Katja Pantzar is a Helsinki-based writer, editor, broadcast journalist, and English-language event host who also speaks Finnish.
Raised in Canada with stints in the UK and New Zealand, she has written several books about Helsinki and Finland. Her newest book The Finnish Way: Finding Courage, Wellness, and Happiness Through the Power of Sisu (TarcherPerigree/Penguin Random House) has been published in 22 territories, including the UK, Germany, and Russia.
An avid winter swimmer and cyclist, Katja Pantzar holds a masters degree in Journalism from the City University of London (UK) and a bachelors degree in Communication from Simon Fraser University (Canada).
She is a regular contributor to Finnair’s inflight magazine Blue Wings and a freelance member of the Finnish Broadcasting Corporation’s (Yle) English-language news service. Katja is writing a second book about that special Finnish fortitude – sisu.
Events that she has hosted include Sustainable Urban Solutions, which was part of the Nordic Cleantech Conference in Copenhagen in May 2018. With a North American attitude and an understanding of the Nordic mentality, Katja aims to inspire and motivate the audience.
