Carla Harris is the only name you need to know when it comes to women in business. Championing females in corporate environments and increasing investment opportunities for all, especially minority groups, throughout her pioneering career Carla has been involved in a range of industries from retail and media, to healthcare and technology.

She has been named to Fortune Magazine’s 50 Most Powerful Black Executives in Corporate America, U. S. Carla Harris is a top finance keynote speaker, author, and a role model. In her 30 year career, she has had extensive industry experiences in the technology, media, retail, telecommunications, transportation, industrial, and healthcare sectors.

Graduating from Harvard in 1984 with a degree in economics, Carla gave herself a solid foundation before joining the businesses world. Returning to the prestigious school to complete her Masters in 1985, she was awarded the qualification from Harvard Business School. With a career established from a quality education, Carla is an inspiring speaker for schools, able to show students what hard work and self belief can achieve.

Working on the famed Wall Street, Carla began her role as the Vice Chairman of Wealth Management and Senior Client Advisor at Morgan Stanley, the banking giant, in 1987. Joining the businesses straight from school, Carla rose to the challenge and rose through the ranks thanks to her ability to increase client connectivity and return a greater revenue as a result. Having spent over thirty years at the firm, Carla has become a leading industry expert and valuable voice on finance.

Through her impressive work at Morgan Stanley, Carla was approached by President Obama who appointed her the chair of the National Women’s Business Council in 2013. Thriving in the role as an ambassador for women, Carla has been recognised for her work and named as one of the Top 25 Powerful Women in Finance on three occasions, as well as making Essence Magazine’s list of The 50 Women Who Are Shaping the World.
