In 30 plus years experience of building and leading teams to achieve big, bold goals, Caspar has experienced many different businesses and environments.
Importantly, he has consistently found that the most successful leaders and teams are the ones who recognise that we are all building two teams – a team at work AND a team at home.
Caspar’s top themes & topics for 2022:
Business is changing at the speed of light. Nimble renegades are disrupting every sector and forcing change. Modest incremental goals are the single best formula for creating an uninspired workforce and risk the very existence of a business in our fast moving disruptive world. To stay relevant and ahead of the pack, there is ONE distinctively human competitive advantage that you and your team must leverage…. the extraordinary skills within your people. It is the leadership and teamwork to unlock this that will shape the success of your organisation.
• CULTURE – 87% of organisations cite culture and engagement as one of their top leadership challenges (Deloitte)• RESILIENCE – Teams who trust their leaders are 42 times more likely to be highly resilient (MIT Sloan) and yet recent research from Hubspot shows that 52% of people would trust a stranger before their manager! • AGILITY – Agile firms grow revenue 37% faster and generate 30% higher profits than non-agile firms (MIT). • SKILLS – Over 70% of employees report they don’t have mastery of the skills needed to do their jobs (Harvard Business Review)
• Building and Leading Teams through Challenge and Transformation: The key themes being the mindset to think bigger and bolder and specifically how to do that together as a team.• The Disruptors Mindset • The Great Attraction vs The Great Resignation • Self Leadership • Leading through Uncertainty is another theme.
His experiences have covered businesses of all sizes and, having started out as an entrepreneur at 14, he built and led teams in global corporations, start-up businesses, struggling businesses and high growth businesses. This includes 10+ years in Professional Services including five years at KPMG Corporate Finance and several stints as a CFO. Additionally, he built multiple successful ventures from scratch, one of which was sold for a 7-figure sum.
Caspar’s unique journey & perspective includes sailing around the world, twice – the first time on a trophy-winning racing yacht and the second time with his family team – his wife and three children under the age of ten. This rare experience prompted him to wonder why family teamwork is so rarely spoken about in business when it offers so many powerful insights and ideas about how to build thriving teams at work.
Both involve putting people first knowing that results will follow. Both involve being more human
