Emilia Elisabet Lahti is an international presenter on topics of courage, compassion, and excellence in leadership. In her Ph.D. she is pioneering the research on the Finnish construct of sisu, which denotes deep embodied fortitude in the face of adversity. Elisabet holds a master’s degree in social psychology from the University of Tampere in Finland and a master’s in applied positive psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. Her work has been featured by The New Yorker, Business Insider, and Forbes among others. Elisabet has given talks at Fortune500 companies such as Facebook and Salesforce, as well as Stanford University, UC Berkeley, and Singularity University at NASA Ames, where she studied futurism and exponential technologies in their Global Solutions Programme.

As part of her social action initiative called ‘Sisu Not Silence’ that is focused on nonviolence and unlocking human potential through psychological safety, and along with her personal quest to understand what allows individuals to unearth dormant energy, she has completed Ironman triathlons and a 2400km/50-day run/bike journey across the length of New Zealand. Emilia Elisabet Lahti has also spent time training martial arts and studying eastern philosophy in Northern China.
Her personal life mission involves being an active catalyst for human connection and creativity. Emilia Elisabet Lahti sees that we’re all called to be conscious and caring leaders. By choosing courage over silence when needed and actively building psychological safety, we can create spaces for living our truest high expression – in our personal lives and as a human family.
